Minor Updates to Search and Quick Add

3/19/2008 in ClearCheckbook Updates
There have been three additions made to the Search page and one update made to the Quick Add form.

On the Search page, you now have the ability to search for transactions that have no category and/or no account associated with them. This will be helpful for tracking down rogue transactions. Also, you now have the ability to specify whether or not the transaction you're looking for is a deposit or a withdrawal.

On the Quick Add on the Account Summary page, if you are viewing a specific account (anything other than "All Accounts"), that account will be the default when you are adding transactions through Quick Add.

Please keep sending in those requests. They may not make it onto the site immediately, but if they're good suggestions, chances are they'll make it up sooner or later.

A Surprise for iPhone and iPod Touch Users :)

3/7/2008 in ClearCheckbook Updates
I'm proud to announce the release of ClearCheckbook Mobile today. ClearCheckbook Mobile is a version of ClearCheckbook developed specifically for the iPhone and iPod Touch. All elements of the site (minus a few that are still in the works) have been ported over to the new layout.

Over the next week or so, the remaining elements of ClearCheckbook will be ported over to the mobile site and it will be complete. I will make another blog post when that time comes.

Until then, please try out the new mobile site and everything it has to offer! IT's completely self sustaining now (meaning you can do everything from registering new accounts to changing your date and currency settings). Try it out and let us know what you think of it by sending us an email or posting in the comments of this blog entry!

For more information on ClearCheckbook Mobile, click here.

Update (March 8, 2008):
Reminders / Recurring Transactions and the "Lost Password" features have been added to the mobile site.

Also, ClearCheckbook Mobile has been added to the list of WebApps on the Apple website.

New Feature: Archive old Accounts

1/21/2008 in ClearCheckbook Updates
If you're like me, you've had a few old bank accounts or credit cards that you have canceled or closed out. Instead of constantly seeing these old account names when using the site, we just developed the option to Archive your old empty accounts.

This option doesn't delete any of your transactions, it simply hides all mention of these accounts from the site. You can go back at any time and set them as active so you can view the data from those accounts.

To archive your old / empty accounts, click on the Settings link and go to Manage Accounts. Simply uncheck each account that is no longer active and click Save. You can come back to this page at any time to re-activate your accounts.

We have also made it a little easier to switch between the different types of reports. A lot of people didn't know we still had bar graphs available to view on the site because the link was a little hard to find. Now it will be much easier to see and use.

If you have any questions about the added Archive feature, please send us a message by clicking on the Contact Us link at the bottom of every page!

Minor Update to Search Page

1/15/2008 in ClearCheckbook Updates
You can now search for a specific amount using the Search page. To search for an amount, simply enter the amount and adjust any other search criteria and click Search. This feature has been frequently requested and serves a good purpose for tracking down rogue transactions.

Over the course of the next month we will be slowly updating the site little by little with some of our more requested features.

If you have any feature requests you would like to see added, please send them to us. There's no guarantee that the exact feature you request will be added soon, but we do take note of all requests and try to implement them eventually.

A Happy New Years Surprise from ClearCheckbook!

12/30/2007 in ClearCheckbook Updates
I know we're a few days early, but we wanted to bring in the New Year with a server upgrade for the site. We just made the switch to our new server named DocOck (yes, like the villain from Spiderman). You should notice the site performing much faster now... as the server itself is about 8x more powerful in every way than our old one.

We named the server DocOck because it has Dual-Quad core processors for a total of 8 processors running with 4GB of RAM. This should be enough power to manage the site for a while :)

We're still looking to see if anything is acting up from the switch to the new server. If you notice any issues with the site, please use the Contact Us form at the bottom of the page to let us know.

Thanks and Happy New Year!
